Henri Namphy was born in Cap-Haïtien, Haiti, on November 2, 1982. He died June 26, 2018 in the Dominican Republic at the age of 85.
Here is a photo of Lt. General Henri Namphy when he was a young cadet in Haiti fresh out of the academy.
After graduating from the Haitian Military Academy, Henri Namphy quickly climbed the ladder. He held, among others, the posts of vice-commander of the guard of the National Palace. Namphy was an army commander in two departments in Haiti.
In 1981, Henri Namphy became Brigadier General of the Haitian army.
Former Haitian army General Williams Regala, then Colonel and director of Haiti's military academy. Right behind him is General Jacques Gracia, former commander of the presidential guard, and President for life Jean Claude 'BabyDoc' Duvalier back in February 1976.
General Williams Regala was one of the members of Haiti's National Council of Government which led the country after the fall of the Duvalier regime February 7, 1986
