En Haïti, un délégué est le représentant du pouvoir exécutif (le président) dans chaque département. Dans chaque arrondissement du département, un vice-délégué est nommé sous l'autorité du délégué.

Gonzague Day - ex Delegue Departemental de l'Ouest Haiti

Gonzague Day is the son of Edner Day, an infamous Duvalierist who was prefect of Port-au-Prince and Commander of the S.D. (Duvalier's secret Police) under Francois 'Papa Doc' Duvalier.

Les délégués et vice-délégués assurent la coordination et le contrôle des services publics et n'exercent aucune fonction de police répressive. Les autres attributions des délégués et vice-délégués sont déterminées par la loi.

ENGLISH

In Haiti, a delegate is the representative of the executive branch (the president) in each department. In each district (arrondissment) within the department, a vice-delegate is appointed under the authority of the delegate.

Delegates and vice-delegates coordinate and control public services and do not perform any repressive policing duties. The other duties of delegates and vice-delegates are determined by law.
