Max Beauvoir- Supreme Chief in Voodoo

According to nabers2012-blogspot-com, Max Beauvoir believes voodoo should play a role in resolving Haiti's problems, especially regarding societal issues, yet he says that the government "seeks the input of Catholic and Protestant leaders," not of voodooists.

Does this have to do with the fact that some Christians view voodoo as a devil worship (a stereotype) and continuously try to convert the population to Christ?
