I Don't fully understand the point of Haiti's joining an "International Ski Federation".

Hey, I don't make the news, I am merely reported them to you. Come to think of it, I don't understand why Palestine joined the club either other than both of them owned less than 3 ski clubs.

Perhaps we will make our own snow too while we are at it.

KANGWONLAND, South Korea -- Palestine and Haiti have joined the International Ski Federation.

FIS says it also accepted the British Virgin Islands, Eritrea and Togo as associate members at its biennial congress meeting in South Korea.

FIS grants associate status to national associations "with fewer than 500 members and fewer than three ski clubs."

Montenegro became a full FIS member with voting rights.

FIS governs Alpine and cross-country skiing, ski jumping, snowboarding and freestyle skiing.

It pledged to distribute 20 million Swiss francs ($20.5 million) among its member countries over the next two years to promote skiing disciplines.
