Fugitive wanted for sex assault located in Haiti

NORWICH, CT (WFSB) -
Norwich police said a fugitive wanted for sexual assault of a minor was located in Haiti and is now returning to the states to face charges.

According to police, 49-year-old Luckner Sylvain of Taftville had a sexual relations with a 12-year-old child back in 2006.

When police began investigating Sylvain fled to Haiti, however, authorities recently located him and with the assistance of Haitian officials, took him into custody.

Sylvain waived extradition and was returned to the states, police said.

He is currently being held on a $200,000 bond. He is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Norwich Superior Court.
