at Monel I believe you're confused.

A first generation American is anybody born to foreign parents living in the U.S. I don't understand your notion that a real first generation Haitian-American would be born prior to 1971. The majority of first generation Haitian-Americans I know were born in the late 1970's and throughout the 1980's.

To answer your question I was born in 1985 and both of my parents were born in the 1960s and immigrated in 1981 and 1982 respectively.

It's very apparent in my original post that I am YOUNG because I mentioned being a first generation American who only found out about the Duvaliers a few years ago. It's not rocket science my dear.

I simply asked a question on a PUBLIC forum.

I'm not quite sure why you're so upset.

P.S. You may want to work on your grammar and sentence structure.
