We should kick this exchange up a notch by speaking of an obligatory, mandatory, service militaire for the self defined group "nous les jeunes", for a period of 2 years.

Without exemption for things like being: a student, an handicapped, pregnant, lower income class, middle class, vivant a l'etranger, upper class, this skin color, that skin color, etc., etc..

NO EXEMPTION if you are between (ages to be determined)

Let then see if the enthusiasm for or against an army would increase or decrease.

Kind of "put your money where your mouth is".
