But did I read the reasoning correctly from Mr. Juppe?

What is France's commitment to the Franco-Haitian history?

What am I missing here?

Did the French not enslave the Africans they brought to Haiti?

Did the French not trick Louverture and kidnap him to France where he died shortly thereafter?

Did the French not force Haiti into poverty with the 90 Million francs they extorted from the country in the early 1800's?

Did not France involve themselves in Aristide's removal because he was talking about reparations from France in the amount of millions or billions of dollars?

What a commitment to Haiti's history! Slavery, robbery and kidnapping! Can someone from Haiti explain with logic Juppe's comments that sound to me like typical government nonsense.

Can someone tell me how France is so committed to Haiti?
