This is total nonsense and both Ray and company should be challenged regarding Martelly on the notion that he is a US puppet and, then the exclusion of Lavalas.

Ray, you do not have a iotas of proof regarding the puppet allegation.

To you, anyone that deals with the US amicably or share the market economy perspective must be manipulated.

How's simplistic and stupid.

What's a narrow point of view. Do you know the diversity and range of opinions Haitians could have and represent?

Martelly's perpectives are similar to mine and I don't live in the US. I don't see how I am somehow a US puppet.

You provided a simplistic view of things.

Provide evidence.

So easy to say and you don't have to offer any proof since you can't. Thus, can simply hide behind that allegation.

Second, unless you are preaching the socialist type economy, look around the world to understand and you will see that it is not the poor in societies that deternime the direction of the economy.

The middle class and the top dogs with money to finance things (business class) do. The bankers, those with huge financial wealth in the US and elsewhere are not the poor and they direct to a large extend the economy.

The poor have jobs and work for others.

Provided the standard of living is reasonable, access to education and healthcare and people feel they have a stake in society, well, that's what you'll have. Think of the G20 countries.

Aristide was stupid, viewing Haiti's problem in the context of ideology and class, when in fact, the government could not put policies in place to provide free education to all Haitians, for them to eat, deal with corruption, develop the economy so that the people could have jobs and raise their standard of living, create a reforestation program in the country, something still badly needed, healthcare...

well, practically everything, Aristide was a total failure.

Yet, Aristide, wanted to create his own brand of dictatorship, that's why he became the chief of Lavalas for LIFE, created the chimeres to protect him from power.

Disbanded the army. The chimeres, the source of so many killings.

Thus, he surrounded himself with so many thugs and drug dealers, so many of them are now in US jails, convicted you know. Actually, Aristide should have been charged and convicted as well and I am sure it was because of political reasons the US decided not to pursue him. For Aristide, it was like the Bush doctrine, either you were with Aristide or were against him. And if against, Aristide with his gangs of clowns and thugs, with no education, would have arranged to get rid of you, like so many people paid the ultimate price.

When I left Haiti in 1976, Jean Claude Duvalier was president and Haiti was a calm and safe place to live. JCD was not a magouilleur, the people that surrounded him later, specially the Bennett and company managed to take advantage and were a source of so many corruptions and problems for JCD and inevitably, Duvalier had to pay the price for that. Before the Bennett, Haiti, still a dictatorship, was a very enjoyable country to live in. We all know that Haiti has been pushed back almost 40 years after Duvalier.

The Lavalas is not a political party, but a gang of thugs, acting like tribes in Africa and intending on violence.

That is why Lavalas was banned.

A group intending to create political instability and violence.

Is that your notion of a political party?

You know something interesting?, I recalled seeing Aristide in a church, he was then president of Haiti and was preaching...Oh mete pere lebrun pou yo, oh a la bagay douce.

(pere lebrun is the killing of people with a tire burning around the neck) I was so taken back. Imagine, for a president of the country, preaching political violence, and murder, when it should be teaching the respect of the law order and the constitution.

No Aristide was a total failure and did not deserve to be president.

I hope you understand now why Lavalas is garbage and should not be involved in Haiti politics.

Ray, I therefore question you intellect and judgment.

Sincerely
Jim
