TiGeorges,

The Haiti that i left was the #1 tourist attraction in the caribbean, and i suppose that itself should tell say so very much. It was not Jamaica, it was not DR, it was not Brazil, it was not Cancun or any other island, but it was Haiti that was the #1 tourist attraction in the 60's and early 70's.
The thing that is the most significant to me is that the Haitian dollar (5 gourdes) had the same value as the US dollar.

Our little Haiti is rich in history, and should not be simply judged in its present predicament.

Haiti, stands tall in world history regardless of how that its story is looked at. Many nations, including the US, owe some debt to Haiti for their freedom; we provided soldiers to fight for their freedom -in particular most of the South American countries.

A good portion of the gold that in Fort Knox, USA is from Haiti - stolen by the US between 1915 and 1934 to jump start the world bank. The economy of England was what it was in the early 20th century, because of the 60million in gold that King Henri Christophe gave to the English Ambassador (forgot his name) to put in the English bank for the future of Haiti - a small percentage was to go to the the English crown, but they stole the whole thing.

France and the US were collecting payments until 1947 from Haiti in order to respect our independence.

The sum is equal to about 30billion US dollars now. Germany made out like a bandit by blackmailing us with their warships in order to get some loot.

The money donated to Haiti now is collecting interest somewhere and who knows who is collections the millions in interest.

But that's ok! Misery can not kill Haitians, we are going to be here no matter what.

If i had to be born again, i would beg my dear mother to allow me to be born Haitian.

God Bless Haiti
