Jean-Claude DUVALIER in HAITI. WHY NOT?

Maya Dorcil - January 16 2011, 9:42 PM

I do not want to / will not get into any politics and strongly suggests the same to those, actually most of us Haitians who have witnessed first hand the socio-economical regression of our beloved HAITI.

I grew up under baby doc's regime (1971 - 1985) in Petion-Ville.

This is what I remember :

- CLEAN STREETS WITH ALL ROADS MOSTLY IN ACCEPTABLE CONDITIONS.

- ELECTRICITY 24/7
- RUNNING WATER NEARLY ON AN EVERY DAY BASIS
- GOOD SCHOOL SYSTEM.

By no means was my family well-off yet I attended F.I.C de Petion-Ville.

- ADEQUATE FOOD SUPPLY.

There was always food available at the "mache"(ble, pitimi, mais, diri, pwa, andui, cresson, cocoye, papaye, patate, diondion, poule pays, tri tri, sassave, zaboka, melon, cachiman, corossol, griot, cabrit, etc et ra.)
- STABILITY.

It was a safe environment to grow up
- LIFESTYLES.

Again we were not rich but we the people, most people could afford to go the movies.

YES WE HAD MOVIE THEATRES (clean and operational) CONCORDE CINE, ETOILE CINE, CABANON.

CHAMPIONAT DE FOOTBALL, CONCERT PUBLICS, BAND RARA (EXANFO, CAPITALIST etc....et ra.

2011.

YES PLEASE I will be more than happy for things in Petion ville (by extension in HAITI) to at LEAST BE AS THEY WERE 25 years ago or so.
