August 14, anniversary of the ceremony of Bois Caiman

Today is the 219th anniversary of the ceremony of The Bois Caiman, it is perhaps the most important date in the history of Haiti.

Let's celebrate with hareng sale, patate douce with red skin, mais moulu, hareng sour, tasso cabrit, bannann boukanin, yam boulli, soup jouroumou, boullon tet kabrit ak pimen fo.

These are the foods that Boukman ordered to pass around that day.

Let's remember that we are still struggling as a people.
