I couldn't have agreed with you more on the need for the return of a civic education for the people of Haiti. A need for knowledge of the true history of the country cannot be overstated. We have told ourselves so many fabulous stories and most of all have come to beleive in their authenticity despite the facts to the contrary. A dissociation from reality or the loss of touch from reality will eventually help cast us into a world of oblivion. It is a schizophrenic flight to deny the hard truth and to lose ourselves into the escapism of fantassy however necessary it may be to help deal with the pain of a trauma.
