Foreign Minister conveys message of Haiti President Jovenel Moise to The UN General Assembly

Speaking on behalf of President Jovenel Moise at The 74th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 74), Haitian foreign Minister Bocchit Edmond laid down the canvas of the "complex political crisis" Haiti is facing right now and what the steps taken by President Jovenel to solve them.

"My country has been confronting, for the last few months, a very complex political crisis compounded by decades-old economic precariousness," Brocchit said.

"Conscious of his heavy duty responsibilities, The President of the Republic (Jovenel Moise) has extended his his hands to all the sectors of the nation in order to safeguard the democratic gains, to allow the country to return to peace, stability, serenity, and to facilitate the widest participation of citizens in the management of public affairs."

"This was precisely the meaning of his message (See President Jovenel's address to the Nation) on Wednesday, September 25th.

Foreign Minister Edmon Brocchit noted the efforts of President Jovenel Moïse to pursue a Haitian national dialogue towards resolving the crisis. However, he cautioned that "Haiti will not be able to recover without substantial, sustained, sustainable, coherent, well-coordinated and effective support from the international community."
