UN Mission to Haiti MINUJUSTH officially ends on October 15 2019
The United Nations Security Council announced it is putting an end to its Mission for Justice Support in Haiti (MINUJUSTH) as of October 15 2019.
MINUJUSTH taking over where MINUSTAH left off
Time for the Haitian National Police force to assume its full responsibilities.
This is according to an official statement dated April 12, 2019.
This decision follows the recommendation of Secretary General António Guterres in his latest report in on the situation in Haiti.
MINUJUSTH came to be on October 16, 2017, the day after MINUSTAH, the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti lect Haiti for good.
