Haiti Newspaper Le Nouvelliste broke this news story. It has not been made official as of yet; however, Le Nouvelliste reported "a well-placed source at the CEP" said so...

Sophia Martelly's candidacy was rejected by the judges at the National Bureau of electoral disputes (BCEN) for 2 reasons:

1 - Documents submitted by her lawyers could not prove Sophia Martelly got Haitian nationality according to the principles outlined by Haitian law... What???

2 - Sophia Martelly should have received "Decharge" from her post as chairwoman of the Committee against hunger and malnutrition.

There you have it folks... Sophia Martelly pran kanè... Li pake Senatè de la Repiblik...
