Haiti signs 150 million dollars deal with Taiwan for Electricity 24/7 president Jovenel Moise Promised
Haiti's Foreign Affairs Minister Bocchit Edmond made an official visit to Taiwan on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 to sign the USD $150-million loan agreement that will be used to restore Haiti's electric power grid.
Looks like President Jovenel Moise is one step closer!
Recall, back in May 2018, President Jovenel Moise had submitted to Taiwanese technicians his 800-megawatt project to electrify Haiti during his five-day trip to Taiwan.

Back in September 2018, a Taiwan Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) official said construction of an electricity grid in Haiti was expected to begin before the end of the year] and that the deal was now in the final stage
This is a loan, not a gift!
This loan from the Government of Taiwan to the Haitian government aims to help Haiti improve its electricity network. A way to consolidate Haiti's commitment to Taiwan and, at the same time, move away from China's intentions towards Haiti, according to Haitian daily newspaper Le Nouvelliste.
