Patrick Gaspard

Patrick Gaspard is a former Haitian-American Diplomat who served as ambassador to the United States and South Africa.

Patrick Gaspard was born in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to Haitian parents.

His parents were school teachers in Haiti who moved to the DRC after Patrice Lumumba came to power and was asking French-speaking professionals to move to the country.

Patrick Gaspard was a very influential figure involved in the election of Barack Obama as the first black President of the United States.
