In an interview to Voice of America, the president said these accusations are all manipulations by those against him in order achieve their objectives.
"The manipulations that are taking place in this country today are the biggest in the country's history," President Jovenel said
"Ever since I became president I have been preaching violence. It would be hard for me and my team to suddenly be involved in such a thing," the president said.
It is not the first time in the history of Haiti that gangs are fighting each other in the poor neighborhoods, the president said.
"But it is said that every sector has its own gang," the journalist told President Jovenel.
The president replied: "It is easy to put this on the government but what proof do they have?"
Nowadays every sector in Haiti is seeking visibility from the media. They will say anything to make you look like the bad guy, the president implied.
