Haiti Military - General Herard Abraham Calls for creation of professional Haitian army subjected to civil power

To bring or NOT to bring back the Haitian Army -- Retired Haitian army General Herard Abraham pleaded for the creation of a professional army that is subjected to the civil power.

During a debate by the Fondation des anciens de Saint-Louis de Gonzague at the Caribe convention center in Petionville, General Abraham a acknowledged that the "control of the civil power over the army should not be used as a pretext for the enslavement of the military institution."

The General took the opportunity to set out the main tasks to be undertaken by the new army. These tasks include protecting the country against possible cyber attacks, police assistance in the event of disasters, transport and protection of state officials, etc. (Source: vantbefinfo.com)
