Haiti Gas Prices NOT going up, Communication Minister says
The Haitian government took a precautionary measure to squash a rumor spreading on social media over the weekend that gas prices went up or was about to go up in the country.
Limond Toussaint, Ministre de la Communication
An Memo from DINASA (Distributeurs Nationaux S.A.), the petroleum distribution company, was released in social media to give the impression that gas prices was actually about to go up in Haiti.
Limond Toussaint, Haiti's Minister of Culture and Communication, came out on radio and denied that rumor almost immediately. "It is is a simple internal administrative note that goes out to gasoline resellers. The price of fuel has not gone up at the pump."
