Haiti enters its 4th week of violent and deadly protests

Just yesterday a neighbor asked: Has it been a month since the protests started in Haiti. It is in fact approaching a month. The country entered its fourth week of anti-government protests that have paralyzed the economy and shuttered schools, an article in the New York times read.

Protest continued Monday, October 7th in the streets of Port-au-Prince, stones flew and barricades burned with protesters saying they will not rest until Jovenel Moise resigns.

With a shortage of petroleum products like gasoline and diesel, school children unable to go to school since it opened back in September and tires burning in every major city in Haiti, President Jovenel Moise has his hands full.

Will Jovenel say in power? How will he manage to do that when the opposition refuses to negotiate.

If Jovenel Moise cannot remain in power then what is the exit strategy?

Can President Jovenel just pack up and leave like an old detested dictator without a peaceful of agreed transfer of power?

While it is the wish for some but it may not be the best option for a nation where the police and all the other government instituion are so weak, and the people are out of control.
