I truly like your inquiry, Betty! One minute we hear that Prime Minister Bellerive and Bill Clinton were in charge of receiving and allocating the 10 Billion (10,000,000,000.00) US dollars that was promised to Haiti by foreign donors for its reconstruction; and another minute we hear that more than one third of this sum is unaccounted for. To the President's credit, he has been made clear - by the Martelly camp and other trustworthy channels - that approximately 3.5 Billion give or take has already been dispensed to Haiti.
What I do not understand is why President Martelly did not mention if he or his government received any money and how much from the billions dollars that have been donated.
I have heard that a lot of this money has been used to pay for medical care provided in Haiti and for training of some so-called experts in engineering when in fact most of these people are technicians.
It is really evasive the way our president answered these questions.
I thought Bill Clinton was in charge of that money?
I remember he said that he is waiting for the new government established then he will work together with him/her in the restauration of Haiti.
So ask him where is the money.
It was a pleasure to hear the President talking to you guys - NPR is a reference here in the USA - Nonetheless, much has to be done by the Presidential team to foster a climate of PEACE within the OPPOSITION that controls PARLIAMENT - A green light to Prime Minister CONILLE will be a positive SIGN for this impoverished country to get down to work - A negative answer to Prime Minister CONILLE will put the clock back to May 14th on the BLACKOUT MAY
