FLASH : Haiti - False rumor spreading quickly about gas prices going again in coming days

There is a rumor spreading quickly on social media that gas prices is about to go up again in Haiti. This rumor is false.

The message spreading via WhatsApp makes people believe that a note came from the National Palace saying that gas prices will rise again and almost immediately and this is beginning to create panic in the streets.

We are in touch with a high-ranking official who told us that the National Palace is about to release a note to deny this message that is spreading.

This is an attempt by the opposing forces to the stabilized the government, the official said.
