Haiti Parliament - Another call for National Assembly Tuesday to discuss President Privert

Haitian Senators and Deputes have been called to National Assembly Tuesday, June 21, 2016, 12:00pm to decide whether or not president Privert's mandate will be extended or not...

Will these senators and deputes show up this time?

Will the majority senators who support Privert give Quorum?

Will they extend President Privert's term in office or will they give him the boot?

What do you think about that?

I have a slightly different take on the situation in Haiti, Jean. I think one must not rush to believe that Privert cannot transcend his past association with Lavalas and run the country with a sense of fairness and balance.

I believe that he is, right now, the best hope for a transition with fewer troubles.

While I believe that it would have been better for the Judiciary to have taken control of the presidency at the end of Martelly's term, it's now too late to switch things around.

Whether they show up or not, that will not make any difference.

Haitians cannot rely on these politicians to do anything good for the country.

Privert already has an agenda to select Maryse Narcisse as President.
