Embezzlement - Haitian Senate President Lambert accused of renting his own home for $8 million with taxpayers money

Former Haitian senator Ricard Pierre accused of Senate president Joseph Lambert of embezzling taxpayers money by renting his own home to the State for 8 million gourdes so he himself can live in it.

According to Ricard Pierre, this is a pure example of Embezzlement, what Haitians call "détournement de fonds publics."

The journalist interviewing Senator Ricard Pierre to repeat what he said. he replied:

"I said: When the president of the Senate of the Republic signs a contract for 8 million goudes to rent a home for the Senater President to live in, and some people are saying that same house belongs to him, he puts it under somebody else's name and rents it to the State for 8 million gourdes. I say this is embezzlement (détournement de fonds publics) because no such allocation exist in the Senate budget to rent a house for the Senate President.

Ricard Pierre gave this as an example of embezzlement happenig within the Senate of the Republic of Haiti. "I am not saying it embezzlement but is sure looks and smells like it"
