Michel Martelly is President But With INITE Prime Minister?

President Preval's INITE party may have lost the presidency but INITE is now the majority party in the Haitian parliament...

QUESTION:

Must President-elect Michel Martelly choose a INITE prime minister?

The Constitution of Haiti, Article 137 states:

The President of the Republic shall choose a Prime Minister from among the members of the majority party of the Parliament. In the absence of such a majority, the President of the Republic shall choose his Prime Minister in consultation with the President of the Senate and the President of the House of Deputies.

Surprise... In Haiti, The Prime Minister is THE MAN!

The president of Haiti is not exactly "The H.N.I.C."

No Mr Clark... in Haiti, the Prime Minister is "The MAN"

Read the constitution and you will see that the president of Haiti has DUTIES (Section B) while the Prime Minister has POWERS (Section D)

The Constitution of Haiti, Section B (Duties of the President of the Republic) states:

The President shall see to the respect for the Constitution... The president shall negotiate and sign all international treaties... The President is head of the armed forces, BUT he never commands them in person. (WI FOUT! Who wrote this? LOL)

The Constitution of Haiti, Section D (Powers of The Prime Minister) states:

The Prime Minister shall choose the members of his Cabinet of Ministers... The Prime Minister enforces the laws... The Prime Minister appoints and dismisses Government officials, Li la bib ou pitit...

Here is a little lesson in Politics... USA Vs. Haiti

The United States is a Federal presidential system where the executive power is vested in ONE person, the president.

Haiti is a Semi-presidential a.k.a. presidential-parliamentary system where the executive power is SHARED between the president and the prime minister.

But wait... There's more!

In that type of a system, the semi-presidential system, there is another term called "COHABITATION"

Cohabitation in government is when the President is from a different political party than the majority of the members of parliament.

Cohabitation occurs because such a system forces the president to name a prime minister that will be acceptable to the majority party within parliament... In this case, in Haiti, INITE is the majority party!

Question: Who has the majority in the Haitian parliament?

Answer: INITE

Question: Who raised hell so that INITE's candidate, Jude Celestin, get kicked out of the presidential elections?

Answer: President Elect Michel 'Sweet Micky' Martelly

Question: Will the INITE party spend the next five years AGAINST Martelly instead of FOR Haiti?

Question: Will they make him pay for his FREKANSITE and RADIYES?

Answer: You tell me... You're my expert...

I was watching a video of our elected president where he gave his assessment on what type of obstacles he may be confronted with as a new president.

He mentioned that it was going to be battle as the political system has been broken for so many years.

In addition, corruption is rooted to its core. But, he feels very certain of having the ability, judgment, and resources needed to succeed.
