CARICOM-Haiti : President Jovenel Moise's term expires of as Chairman of CARICOM

Haitian President Jovenel Moise has been the chairman (head) of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) since January 1st 2017. His six-month term expires of as this Saturday, June 30th 2018.

President Jovenel Moise will be replaces in this position by the Prime Minister of Jamaica who will take the lead for the next 6 months.

How did President Jovenel Moise become the Head of Caricom?

The post of Chairman (Head of CARICOM) is held in rotation by the leaders of the countries and sovereign states which constitutes the 15-member states of Caricom.

These include: Antigua and Barbuda, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Haiti, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Bahamas, Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago.
