According to Haitian newspaper Le Nouvelliste, former president Preval died of a heart attack Friday, 03 March 2017.

Two-time president of Haiti, completing his term both times, Rene Preval died at the age of 74.

According to news reports, president Preval died in a hospital in Laboule, Commune of Petionville.
