Here is what former La Gonave Depute Beguens Theus told Haiti Radio Caraibes early Friday morning:

MOCHRENA candidate Mike Fenelon was on his way to register as a candidate for the first circumscription of Port-au-Prince along with his sister Guirlande Petit-Frere when they were attacked by armed gunmen.

The sister was shot and the documents were stolen. The sister was rushed to Bernard Mevs Hospital but she did not survive.

This tragedy is another sad note for Haiti, and proves that democracy is still a long way from where we are now.
When I see the long list of the candidates, and their backgrounds, I have to wonder if they are going to a masquerade or "bal masqué".
