As the rainy season in Haiti shifts into the hurricane season, cholera is on the rise again... Is Haiti Ready?

Yesterday, Haiti President Michel Martelly visited the Haitian National Emergency Operations Center and announced the creation next twenty municipal operations centers across the country.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) predicts that the 2011 hurricane season may have 12 to 18 named storms, six to 10 hurricanes and three to six major hurricanes.

How bad will it be in Haiti this hurricane season?

Well, besides the fact that Haiti is still in a state of emergency and that there are people still living in tents in the capital, Haiti officials fear that cholera could spread further with hurricane season.

According to Associated Press, Haitian doctor Gabriel Thimothe, the executive director of Haiti's health ministry, reported that 10 people have died of cholera in Carrefour since May 26.

While listening to Haitian radio, there were reports of cholera death told rising in Chambellan, near Jeremie.
