Regarding Fritzo Canton being elected president of the new CEP, Senateur Desras Simon Dieuseul says it is more like a Selection... The senator believes Fritzo Canton was handpicked by President Martelly during a meeting at the National Palace

Although the Haiti chamber of deputies decided on Marie Cluny Dumay Miracle and Pierre Simon George to become members of the CEP, Senator Deras says they enjoy no legitimacy.

"The Haitian Parliament has no representatives in the CEP, " Senator Deras says, "or else Néhémie Joseph would have sworn in as well."
