One day after arriving in Port-au-Prince from the United Nations General Assembly, Haiti president Jovenel Moise took a surprise walk in downtown Port-au-Prince on Saturday.

The president visited Rue du Champ de Mars in downtown Port-au-Prince "to inquire about the situation in which the inhabitants of this neighborhood bordering the National Palace are living," a note from the minister of communications said.

President Jovenel also visited Wharf Jérémie in Cité Soleil where he spoke with community leaders and residents around the area about the main problems facing the inhabitants of this working-class neighborhood, the note said.
