In a press conference Wednesday at the Primature, Evans Paul said Sophia Martelly is a candidate like any other candidate and she has rights like everyone else...

If we look at it on the basis of what is happening in the Dominican Republic, Evans Paul said, many people are being sent back to Haiti simply on the basis of the color of their skin or because their great grand father was Haitian.

This is a dilema, the Prime Minister said because these people are Stateless, APATRIDES, someone with out a nationality... Dominican republic says they are not Haitians, and in Haiti we cannot invent a Nationality.

Compare that to Sophia Martelly... She renounced her US Nationality and now Haiti is saying she is NOT Haitian...

This is a very serious problem, Evans Paul said, much more serious than one might think... For her to participate or not in the elections is not the even question...
