Haiti Election Update - Yesterday's Chain Of Events, Is Wyclef In or Out?

Yesterday, a chain of events happened that you should know about. Will Wyclef Jean be ALLOWED to run for President or will they give him the boot?

Yesterday, Reuters reported that Wyclef jean was not on the final list of presidential candidates.

Then hours later, there was another news report that Wyclef was in a two-hour meeting with president Rene Preval.

When Wyclef came out of the meeting, he told MSNBC and CNN that "Thing looks good for us."

Reuters says that the leak came from an official of the Electoral Council. Another official says that as of yesterday a final candidate list did not exists.

So now...

Rumors are spreading like wild fire on the internet and foreign news sites including the Los Angeles Times, E! News Online, and the New York Daily News.

Haiti hip-hop star Wyclef Jean is not on the list of approved candidates who satisfy legal requirements to run in the country's November 28 presidential election, an electoral official said on Thursday.

"He is not on the list as I speak," the electoral official, a member of the country's provisional electoral council who asked not to be identified, told Reuters.
