Arcahaie Haiti mayor attempting to block Govt stand construction for May 18 Haitian Flag Day

Will Haitian Flag Day be celebrated in Arcahaie this year? The mayor of Arcahaie, Rosemila Petit-Frère has blocked this Saturday the construction of a stand that should be erected to host the festivities related to the celebration of Haitian Flag Day.

According to news reports, the mayor says she was not informed of what was happening.

Mayor Rosemila Petit-Frère said on the radio Caraibes FM Monday morning she cannot understand how Haitian flag day is being celebrated in the city of Arcahaie each and every year for over 100 years and still, the population of Arcahaie is living in shambles.

I cannot stop the President from coming to Arcahaie to celebrate his flag day, the mayor said, but there is a way it has to be done.

What do you think about that?
