Ex Haiti Prime Minister Jean Max Bellerive forbidden to leave the country (interdiction de départ)

A judge in Port-au-Prince has instructed Haitian Immigration to prohibit former Prime Minister Jean-Max Bellerive from leaving the country by air, land and sea in an order dated 18 December 2017.

Judge Jean Wilner Morin made this decision to prevent ex Prime Minister Bellerive from leaving the country pending the investigation of the assassination of Alix Junior Gassant, administrator of a construction firm and the disappearance of the former director of the Commission nationale des marchés publics (CNMP), Robert Marcello, missing since almost ten years.

According to Haitian newspaper Le Nouvelliste, Wilner Valcin, former assistant to Jean-Max Bellerive, has been charged with complicity in murder and corruption to the detriment of the State.

Un juge de Port-au-Prince a ordonné à l'immigration haïtienne d'interdire à l'ancien Premier ministre Jean-Max Bellerive de quitter le pays par voie aérienne, terrestre et maritime dans une ordonnance datée du 18 décembre 2017.

Le juge Jean Wilner Morin a pris cette décision pour empêcher l'ex-Premier ministre Bellerive de quitter le pays en attendant l'enquête sur l'assassinat d'Alix Junior Gassant, administrateur d'une entreprise de construction et la disparition de l'ancien directeur de la Commission nationale des marchés publics, Robert Marcello, disparu depuis presque dix ans.
