Listen to this AUDIO... Former Haitian Senator Steven Benoit told journalist Valery Numa he warned ex president Rene Preval NOT to purchase new equipment for the Centre National des Equipements (CNE) with 197 Million dollars of PetroCaribe money until an investigation was made to find out what happened to the previous equipments.
By equipment, Senator Steven Benoit is talking about heavy-duty construction equipments for executing construction tasks, road construction and other earthwork operations.
Steven Benoit said: "I told President Peval you cannot buy equiments for CNE again while back in 1998, 1999, you spent 200 million dollars to purchase equipments. First you need to know what happened to these equipments."
So, the first 197 million of Petro Caribe money was used to purchase equipments for CNE, to replace other heavy equipments that were somehow stolen. But by whom?
"First an inventory had to made," Steven Benoit said."Jude Celestin was summoned to parliament for explanation... Jude Celestin said 'pratikman nèg yo volè tout ekipman yo' (practically all the equipments were stolen)"
Kote kob PetroCaribe a is what everyone is asking. To find out is like going into a rabit hole.
